@ssharky I actually think you should write it. Topics like religious guilt and internalized homophobia aren’t talked about enough, even though a lot of people experience them. Many people stay silent about those feelings because they’re afraid of being judged or hated, so stories like that can make people feel less alone.The fact that you’re already worried about researching and getting it right shows that you care about portraying it respectfully. That’s a good sign. If anything, that kind of thoughtfulness is exactly why someone should write about it.Honestly, stories that explore those internal conflicts can be really powerful and healing for readers who see themselves in them. So if you feel drawn to write it, I think you should.You might end up helping people feel understood in ways they didn’t expect.
