Okay so I was working on a chapter, but someone I was really close to—like a big brother to me—passed away. I won’t be back for a while once again, so the chapters I started will be postponed.

guys, i genuinely don’t know what i’m doing wrong. i have around 40k likes on tiktok, but only 7k reads on here, and i’m struggling to convert that engagement into actual readers. the reads also slowly drop off as the chapters go on, which is really discouraging. if anyone has tips on how to promote a book more effectively or keep readers engaged so they actually continue reading, i’d really appreciate the help

i honestly hadn’t thought about asking ai, but that actually sounds like a really good idea for brainstorming future chapters. and yes, i did include a cliffhanger in my latest chapter. thank you so much for taking the time to respond, i really appreciate it

@ssta4rr and as for tips to have reader continue reading, i'd say you should end chapters with cliffhangers. and i suggest asking ai for help to get ideas (ideas only, dont get ur chaptrs written there too, write the urself, and merge the variety of ideas it gives u into one to make one unique storyline)

trust me, you’re really not doing anything wrong this is common, (especially with tiktok). likes don’t always turn into clicks, and 7k reads is honestly still a lot.
            
            readers lessening happens to everyone too.. people get busy, forget or come back later. and it’s not a reflection of your writing at all.
            
            The fact that ppl r engaging already means ur doing something right. growth is just slow and kinda discouraging sometimes. Please don’t give up 
            success takes time, and you'll be where you want soon!
