Things I am looking to mentor: I write YA historical, contemporary, and magic realism, and so those are genres I gravitate toward.
More than any specific genre, I’m looking for a story with heart, and an MC I can root for. I love pirates, geniuses, sailors, castles, love triangles, Veronica Mars, the marginalized, culture clashes, food, East Coast boarding houses, Southern lit, anything that takes place on the prairie, brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, best friends, damsels with cheek and slightly baffled heroes. Would especially love a boy-view, or a coming-of-age story, and a combo of the two would be even better! I’m not a big reader of horror, verse, mega-epic high fantasy, or experimental diesel punk, whatever that is. I love working with young adults and look forward to meeting you. Let’s whip your baby into shape!
