update on TFWSRHGFaP for anyone who sees it!
there's been a change to the chapters! i wrote out the word "r*t" in TFWSRHGFaP. it was really prominent throughout the fic, and i know a lot of people took it as a joke because i was making it a joke, but it had racist connotation which i didn't know at the time of writing the fic. i knew the word as simply an insult, i picked it up since it was a common funny internet insult, but i did not know it was a hurtful term racists used towards east asians, and that the usage of it had returned because racists wanted a group of people to blame the coronavirus on.
i've honestly known for nearly a year now that it's hurtful, and i never wrote it in a chapter since i found out, and i thought it'd be too hard to write out. BUT yesterday it took me literally 30 minutes to write out the word from both the wattpad, and ao3 version. i now replaced the word with similar words to the internet slang interpretation of the word, or in to words reference to the halloween costume reveal scene. (and that's me trying not to spoil if you haven't read that part) if i missed any scenes alluding to the word, please let me know!!! i didn't re-read the whole fic, i just ctrl+f'd to search for the word each chapter.
if me using that word caused anyone distress, that's on me for not knowing the weight of the word when used towards asians. and i honestly should've changed it sooner yet i overestimated how hard it'd be. sorry i let it sit still for so long, and thank you to that one person who told me a year ago the background behind the word.
