(This is not for everyone, only for the ones concerned.)
I really hate being in unorganised awards. It genuinely gives me ick.
Some organisers out there actually care. They make sure their contests are well-structured, clear, and smooth, so participants and judges don’t feel lost even for a second. You can see the effort. You can feel it.
And then… there are others.
Just dropping contest books like it’s some shortcut to gaining followers and reads. No clarity. No structure. Just chaos wrapped in a cover.
Well, even if that's the purpose but still those are organised. this one is for those which are not.
Meanwhile, here I am... writing down every rule, every category I’ve participated in or the ones I’m judging. Making sure I follow everything that’s asked.
So yes, if I’m putting in that effort, I at least expect a well-organised chapter in return.
Of course, it’s completely up to the organisers how they present things. Their contest, their rules. But then… don’t expect things to go smoothly if you can’t even pay attention to these meager details.
I stayed quiet about this for so long. I kept thinking... what if they misunderstand? What if it comes off wrong?
But not anymore.
I’m not calling anyone out.
why would I? Not a snitch.
This is just something I needed to say.
Because for me, unorganised things are not just “meh.” They’re an instant ick. A complete turn-off.
That’s also why I never edit my chapters after publishing. I do everything beforehand. Because once it’s out, editing messes with the dates and floods notifications, and I just can’t deal with that chaos. That's not something I can handle.
I know for many of you, this might not be a big deal.
But the ones who are like me?
You get it. You really get it.
