            *      the angel froze  ,    his eyes widening in panic  .   he wouldn't dare even   /   think   /   of upsetting heaven   .     he was just   .,    naturally curious   .    he let out a small squeak    ,    then recomposed himself  ,   almost seemingly sheepishly backing a way a little     *    i wasn't trying to start any trouble   .,..

⠀ ⠀⠀⠀i   am   not   some   creature   to   be  fascinated  by,  and    i'm   sure   the  higher   ups   won't   be   pleased   to   see   that   you're   falling   a   fallen  deity   around.

            oh      !!       i am still quite fond of the stars     .        they sparkle in truly a magnificent way     ,       i must admit i do sometimes miss being a stardust weaver   ,    I truly did make some beautiful constellations     .      but alas      ,     being on earth   ,      creating flurries and snowflakes     -     the feeling is indescribable     .

            *    the angel paused for a moment   ,     the sarcasm seemingly escaping him as he straightened   ,    a soft and kind smile coming across his face    *    do not worry   ,      i forgive you    *      his gaze soon drifted to the vending machine   ,     a few small snowflakes escaping his fingertips out of pure nerves    .    of course    ,    he did not want to be seen as an accomplice in this   /   grave   /    crime that had taken place before him    ,     but it wasn't like he could leave the scene      *      ah   ,   i am not    /  entirely   /    sure if a vending machine has a soul to  /   be    /    possessed   .    and besides  ,     regardless of it being set alight     ,     there is no need to be stealing the snacks from within   .

            Velatrix stared at the angel for a long moment before letting out a slow, deeply unimpressed sigh.
            
            “Oh, forgive me. I forgot celestial beings collapse instantly when exposed to mild inconvenience and secondhand criminal activity.”
            
            Her molten eyes rolled dramatically afterward.
            
            “You act like I dragged you through a warzone when all that happened was one possessed vending machine and a small electrical fire.”
            
            A pause.
            
            “…Which, for the record, was not my fault. The machine escalated first.”

/      he really believes the other angels when they sent him on an    "    earth observation mission    "    ,    when in reality it was banishment   ,   for being a weak link in the chain   .     being too nice   ,   being too soft   .     he wasnt technically a fallen angel  ,    but its not like he had any connections with heaven   .   
            
            he places his observational reports in a hollowed oak tree   ,    as asked by his superiors   .    they're never read or picked up by anybody  ,   but asteriel wholeheartedly believes they are   .     carefully written reports  ,   pages long   ,   with beautiful seals that he pressed himself lie rotting inside an old tree   .
