It's been a minute since I've posted anything here, so here's a couple updates.
I got a lot of feedback on Cross the Kingdom and tbh it was kind of overwhelming. I know that constructive criticism is really important, but ngl I'm kind of sensitive and I find it hard to read sometimes. A lot of really valid points were brought up, so it's not that I disagree with what was said, but the thought of having to sift through it all was just a bit overwhelming. That, combined with the fact that I don't really have a huge following (both on here and tumblr, which is the only other place where I post my writing) kind of put me off editing.

Lately though, I've started plotting out a prequel that will focus on Kit's father. In doing so, I had a sort of breakthrough with one of the minor characters and that prompted me to get back to editing.
I don't know when I'm going to start posting again, but I feel like it's been long enough that I can put my feelings for the first draft aside and properly edit it. I realized that in my last update I said I was hoping to finish editing this year, but seeing as though it's already September, I don't really see that happening. I am going to try to make it more of a priority though so hopefully I can get back to posting soon. I'm planning on writing the aforementioned prequel for NaNoWriMo this year, but maybe I'll plan on doing more editing goals for Camp Nano in 2022.

Forgot to add that I don't really like the title anymore, but I'm having a hard time coming up with a new one. If anyone is actually reading this, I'm open to suggestions.

It's been kind of a while so here's a general update for my stories
          - Cross The Kingdom: I'm hoping to have a edited the entire thing by the end of this year. I've taken a break from it because I've realized that I don't really have plans for Katrina. She plays a pretty important role in the 2nd chapter but then she kinda disappears. So, I'm currently doing a pretty big overhaul of that chapter. After that there's still another 27 chapters to edit. I'm also thinking of a title change. I don't love the current one, honestly but I'm having a hard time thinking up of a better one.
          - Blackout Poetry: Not really a priority, its just for fun. Updates will be pretty sporadic.

I've also got a couple new stories coming up so keep an eye out for the following:
          - New Vellarton #2: Sequel to CtK that picks up right where the last one leaves off. I won't be posting it until the first one is done, but the first draft is nearly done!
          - Magic Keepers #1: This was my NaNo project for this year. It's a fantasy series about a girl who is chosen by the gods to be a Magic Keeper. I'm still working on the 1st draft and I figure I'm probably more or less 50% finished. It's one of my oldest WIPs and I've had a lot of fun working on it.
          - A Place Among Wolves: This is my newest WIP (and by new I really do mean that. It's like 3 days old). It's a magical realism story about a girl who partially turns into a wolf. It comes from a pretty personal place, and will be looking at themes of acceptance, identity, and fitting in.
          - Immortal Minds: This was last years Camp NaNo project. It's about a boy who finds out he has telepathic abilities, and somehow that's linked to the death of his classmate. I'm still figuring out the plot so don't expect to see this one any time soon.

If anyone is interested, I post updates about these over on my writing tumblr: https://starfast.tumblr.com/
You'll also find some more detailed summaries under the WIP tab

Well, it took a little longer than I expected, but edited version of chapter 1 of Cross the Kingdom is now live! I'm going to try to have the rest of the chapters edited as soon as I can so that I can start posting the remaining ones. In the meantime, I'd love to hear some feedback.

Finally got around to editing the prologue for Cross the Kingdom. Would really love it if some of you guys checked it out and gave some feedback.
I'm planning on editing the rest of the chapters as well, but tbh constructive criticism is hard for me to read sometimes :/ Still, I'm hoping to at least have chapter one finished by the end of the week.

I've decided that I'm going to take a break from posting CtK. When I first finished my first draft, I was so excited to get my story out into the world that I didn't really put much thought into editing. I thought I'd be able to spend a week editing each chapter before I post it, but I've realized now that isn't working. Most of the chapters are requiring more editing than I initially thought, and a week just isn't enough time to make the chapters as good as they can be.

I'm still going to leave the story up for now, and I do plan on completing it some day. For now though, I want to take some time to edit so that I can do my story some justice and give each chapter the attention it needs rather than just rushing through it.

Not sure how long this is going to take, but I'll try to announce when I'm going to resume posting

So, I'm not going to be able to update Cross the Kingdom this week. I've been up to a lot recently since I was getting ready for Christmas, so unfortunately I didn't get to do any editing at all. In the meantime, I hope you guys have a very merry Christmas/ Happy Holidays. I'll see you guys next year :D

I know I don't really have many followers or readers, but just in case, I want to put it out there that I'm going to be delaying the upcoming chapter of Cross the Kingdom until next Wednesday. Reason being that this past week has been really busy and I haven't had the time to edit it properly. I'm going to try to do some more work on it today, but I'm having to make some big changes to it so unfortunately I don't see it being done by tomorrow.
