RANT!!
I hate it when people make farm AU fics, and its literally "Oh, farmings not a lot of work! Anyways, wanna help me feed the chickens/cows/whatevers? It'll be a great chance to show you how easy it is!" LIKE NO ITS NOT??? If its like- not a major thing in the story, thats cool to just have feeding them be mentioned a couple of times! BUT LIKE, FARMING IS NOT EASY???
Firstly, with chickens, you have to constantly make sure your roosters aren't fighting or beating on the hens and that they're getting out to peck at bugs every day, and on top of that, you cant forget that they need to have their coops cleaned out!! At LEAST once a season. AT THE VERY LEAST. Even then, I'd say every 2 months is pretty good depending on how many chickens you have. Oh, and they also need to have their waters refilled, and you have to make sure that none of your chickens are hurt or covered in mites, and im POSITIVE having other animals is also similar!! Oh and by the way, they're actually pretty incompetent and need to be looked after so that a predator doesn't snatch them up for dinner!
On top of this, but with plants, you need to make sure bugs and animals arent eating them before you can harvest, you have to weed them, water them, and so on. (Idk much about plants), yeah, sure, it might not take a lot of time, but IT STILL TAKES TIME!!
