Hi! I have a question that I hope isn't too silly. When writing fics taking place in certain tv shows, how do you get the dialogue exactly as it is in the show? Do you just rewatch the show and write it down? Sorry if this is strange!

@starsfornova hi! not a strange question at all, don’t worry. there are a few ways I do it. the main one is using transcripts online; there will often be at least one out there, especially if it’s a popular show (it can be hard to figure out which character said what line, but I either remember it or take an educated guess). but sometimes rewatching a certain scene is what helps, so if the show is readily available to me, I will just find that moment in the episode and take notes. hope this helps!

so they revealed the string quartet covers for part 2 of bridgerton, and ‘fields of gold’?? ‘the night we met’?? oh… tears might be shed.
(also feeling weirdly proud of myself, because I literally included ‘fields of gold’ in the score for act 3 of turning page! if it’s for the same plot point I had imagined, my heart will break)
