"well they should be less busy and less focused on measuring things!"  he childishly exclaimed.  it wasn't as if they closed just   /  stop  /   ruling their planets.  "then maybe things wouldn't feel so  ..  wrong.   maybe   /  I  /   wouldn't feel wrong."

            “  the tests aren't anything you can technically fail  ,    endel  ,     „     they sighed  ,     “  it's just measures of things  .      and they're stressed because of work  ...    sometimes that may come off as they're stressed and annoyed because of you  ,      but they're not  .      „     they didn't know how to comfort him  ,      they didn't  *comfort*  .    they just didn't  .    “  they lead entire worlds  ...    it doesn't mean anything is wrong with you  ,      it isn't that they don't have time  .     you've done nothing wrong and you never will  .      „

"you do want me gone though!  you make me leave all the time and  —  and I know you're just told to play with me half of the time!"  he knew andromeda loved him  —  of course he knew that.  it was just hard to think logically right now.  "I always seem to  ..  to stress papa and dad out.  they always make me do things.  it feels like tests  ..  "  ones he was terrified to fail.  "am  ..  am I broken?  is there something wrong with me?"

"I brought one."  he waves around the small plush.  endel only had a few stuffed animals himself. he felt bad if he couldn't give equal attention to all of them  ,  so he was set with his handful.  that didn't mean he didn't love andromeda's collection though.  a point he made clear by scurrying over and promptly burrowing under them.

            andromeda nodded  ,     patting him on the back a few times before letting go  .      “  now choose a side  .     did you bring your stuffed animal  ?    or would you prefer to use one of mine  ?    „    really she had too many  ..    she'd give half of them to endel if she wasn't attached to them  .      “  if not i can go get yours  .     „

the words did the opposite of calming him down.  now he was thinking about both of them dying   /  and  /   papa going insane.  endel whined and clung on tighter to her.  "I won't  ,  I'll be really good."  he promised.  he   /  had  /   to be  —  he didn't want to be sent away.

            “  you realize he likely chose ones he thought you might like  ,    right  ?     „     it made sense that their dad really didn't know and prioritized not waking endel  ...    i mean  ,     she would do the same  .     but that might just be because she cared more about his health than his shoes  .     “  you're lucky you're cute  ,     got it  ?    next time wear the shoes he got you and just style them right  .    anything can be styled to look nice  .     „

            "I fell asleep at the end.  dad picked them out for me.  I think he just picked random ones in my size  ..  "  he pouted a bit at that notion.  he knew their dad was likely just trying to be quick so he didn't risk waking endel up  ,  but the shoes he got were a disgrace!  he felt bad saying anything though  ,  so he had been hoping he could live without them.

            of course he was complaining ..  he was lucky he was adorable or she's probably drop him on purpose !  not that she hadn't done that before ...  more on accident .  “  if you wore them your feet wouldn't hurt .  and why didn't you choose ones you liked ??  i thought dad took you shopping not long ago .  „
