dean looked down at his daughter and shook his head , but not in a disapproving way . he placed his hands on her shoulders and squeezed them lightly , “ sweetheart , if you’re happy — that’s all that matters . and i love you too . ” he responded , “ it doesn’t matter what i think . ”

the man shook her head for a moment , processing the situation over before taking a deep breath . “ are you happy ? ” he asked , not wanting to flip out and make the situation about himself , even though initially he wasn’t entirely thrilled .

dean’s brow furrowed as his daughter spoke , his eyes scanning her face quickly as she finished what she was saying . “ you — you’re what ? ” he asked , even through he had heard her perfectly clear .

dean smiled at her daughter , wrapping an arm around her to give her a quick hug . he raised his eyebrows and nodded , his smile faltering just slightly . “ it’s really good to see you too , sweetheart — is something wrong ? ”

dean winchester’s attention was drawn away from his laptop at the sound of his daughters voice . “ hey , kiddo — in the living room . ” he called back as he shut his laptop and pushed his chair back to stand up .

dean’s eyes widened as he saw his daughter’s eyes go black , more worried than scared in that moment . he listened as she spoke , being sure to keep a safe distance as she had requested . he did his best to dodge any of the books that headed his way , trying to remain calm to not upset her anymore than she already was . “ is there — is there anything i can do ? ” he asked quickly , sounding more panicked than intended .

dean arrived earlier than anticipated from a run to pick up a few things they needed back at home . he closed the door behind him as he made his way through the room , only to be struck with confusion as he saw his daughter in a panic with a shattered lamp at the window . “ sam , sweetheart ? ” he asked hesitantly as he set the bags down to the floor and took a few urgent steps to his daughter . “ what’s goin’ on , talk to me , kiddo . ”
