@steinfeldanon this is why your book is so amazing like this process and the way you think about including stuff makes u an amazing writer

@steinfeldanon Yeah this is exactly why this book is so good. You think about everything

@hereforhailee the benefit of being behind is that i can have an accurate timeline and foreshadow certain events. for instance, in the most recent chapter, [y/n] tells hailee "we'll always have paris" which happens to be the caption hailee uses on IG to hard launch her relationship with josh.. in paris. those small easter eggs are going to make certain events in future chapters hit harder. i just need to double down and push chapters out faster lol

Hi, i have a quick question but i wanted to say i love your writing it’s amazing!! But how do u come up with the dialogue? I would love to know what goes on in your head to create good chapters cause this book is one of the best I’ve read!

steinfeldanon

@jellyville aw, of course! thanks for asking such a good question :)

Oh yesss this helped thank you! It’s funny you talked about authors rushing stories and that’s exactly why I kind of have a hard time reading stories because it’s rushed. It definitely throws me off, that’s why I needed to ask lol. Applause to you for the patience and commitment you have to writing this story and just for writing periodp.s I was kind of nervous asking because I never interact with people on here so thank you

@jellyville first, i want to say thank you so much! i'm so happy you love the book! & second, that's a great question. i've never been asked that. i want to say the majority of my writing style stems from reading at such a young age. i was reading two grades above my level when i was in second grade and i was in the National English Honor Society in high school. in terms of dialogue, i think its all about imagination. i love poetry and i want to say i owe most of my writing skills (on the romance side of things) to my favorite poets. the key takeaway is finding what inspires you most and basing your characters around that. i can't stress enough how important it is to NOT RUSH. you can't rush into where you see your characters in the end.. it will rob your readers and your writing the chance to evolve alongside the characters. if you can't create a solid foundation for your protagonists, they don't have much to stand on when they get to that point in the story where things are "perfect." this previous chapter i published (Chapter 20) finally gives the readers what they wanted after only offering a brief glimpse of it in Chapters 11-14. instead, i spent the majority of the book thus far building tension, introducing obstacles, creating a support system through the protagonists' friend group, staying true to the love interest being busy bc she's a celebrity. so many celebrity stories on here want [y/n] to be around them in every chapter and that's not realistic. i recommend taking a look at every character you create and fully understanding what their circumstances are. the more realism you incorporate, the more relatable your story is. if your readers can't relate to it, you have nothing to offer. in terms of writing on wattpad, the advantage is publishing and gaining feedback each time so listen to your audience every now and then. they usually have great ideas! it's all about taking your time and finding your rhythm! i hope this helped a little.. happy writing!<3

hey, everyone!

‘Chapter XX: HEAVEN’ is now published along with the ‘Characters’ chapter that was in high demand! we beat our word count record yet again with 45.1k words!! im headed to work but i hope you guys love it and i can’t wait to read all of your comments when i get back! x

steinfeldanon

CHAPTER XIX IS OUT! x

thank you all so much for the continued support on ‘Flowers on the Floor!’ life has been busy lately and i apologize again for such a long wait. if you haven’t read the new chapter yet, it’s 34.3k words — my longest chapter as of yet! the 2nd longest now is only 19,028 words.. idk what came over me but this chapter is almost double the length of what i normally publish but you guys deserve it for waiting so patiently!

          also,
how do we feel about a ‘Characters’ chapter? no words, just photos of what i envision each character to look like. it would be placed at the beginning of the book, before Chapter I. it’s been a draft for a while now because i’ve been hesitating using pictures of people/influencers that have no relation to the fictional aspects of the book but i could always add a disclaimer to compensate for the photo usage. i’ve been wanting to provide the most visual piece of fictional work for you guys so you have an idea of the looks/personalities of each character you’re reading about. let me know and i might publish it before Chapter 20 releases!

thank you for all the support you continue to give! x

been thinking a lot about the direction for the remainder of this book. i’ve mapped out exactly where i want it to conclude and have read all of your comments to ensure that it appeals to everyone in some way.

with that said, the concept of my book orbits around the “ups and downs” of relationships and how some things are better developed as slow burns. the relationship between y/n and Hailee is just that — a slow burn of ups and downs.

there’s a plethora of pov books on this app that represent the concept of a slow burn and ditch the idea for good after 2-3, 5k-8k word chapters. suddenly, after having what appears to be an enemies to lovers/slow burn storyline, the characters are moved in, planning a future, and live happily ever after with the (occasional) one chapter drama in between. that’s not how i envision a slow burn and that isn’t what i envision ‘Flowers on the Floor’ to be.

yes, in the end, we want the happy ending. yes, in the end, we want y/n to be with Hailee. as the reader, i do hope some of my followers consider the possibility that these two characters have personal trials and tribulations outside of their love for each other and that what’s meant to be will, inevitably, be. although it’s fiction, i want to deliver something as real as possible. hence why the book follows Hailee’s events in chronological order. hence the back and forth, slow burn of a romance. there’s so much of this story left — im proofreading the new chapter as we speak.

happy one year of ‘Flowers on the Floor.’ x

to my readers,

‘Flowers on the Floor’ has climbed to #46 in ‘pov’ since yesterday and this book as the least amount of reads than any other in the Top 100 of this category. that’s insane to me.. less people have come across my book and it continues to climb because of all the support you’ve given it — votes, comments, reading list adds, etc.

thank you, guys, for sticking around. currently working on the next chapter. x

hi, everyone! i’ve never posted an announcement on here before but i just finished Chapter XIV and it has become the longest chapter i’ve written thus far at 18.1k words! i like where the story is headed at the moment and i hope you’re enjoying it as well.

i woke up earlier this morning to find ‘Flowers on the Floor’ currently placed at #50 in the ‘pov’ category and couldn’t believe it! thank you so much for your continued reads, votes, and comments towards this book! your support has motivated me to deliver these chapters in a timely manner and seeing the efforts pay off has been very rewarding.

with that said, i’m currently proofreading the chapter and will be publishing it shortly! enjoy. x
