I sigh and close my eyes. "I'm more tolerant than the others of my clan were. They got addicted because they fed too much. I only feed when it's absolutely necessary."
He stares at me for a moment, something flickering in his eyes that I can't read. After a while, he blinks and looks behind him. Alright. There's a brook somewhere nearby. Let's rest there until you're ready to keep moving.
I nod in agreement and follow him down a pathway, through the bushes and leaves until we reach a sunny little stream.
Sighing in comfort, I sit down on a large rock right by the stream. I look up at the sun and close my eyes, soaking it in.
Minutes go by and I can feel him looking at me. Opening one eye, I ask, "What?"
The wolf shakes himself off, then sits. Nothing, I've just never seen a vampire who likes the sun. Most just like to slink away in the shadows.
