Today love was in the air. It was that day in the month that some people dreaded, others didn't believe it was a holiday or just another dumb day really, and then for the love birds who got presents for each other. In the halls at Tree Hill High, decorations like red hearts and Cupid were hung all over. Some students walked down the halls with gifts for their significant other, while others waited at their locker hoping they get a special valentine from a crush or a close friend. Valentine's Day was really something. Shaylen walked up the same staircase, looking half tired, but made her way to her locker.
When she got there, there was a red shaped heart card made from construction paper taped to it. On the front was her name in purple crayon. Opening it carefully, smiling as she read the note, that stated, "Will you be my valentine and come to a fun night with me? Pick up at 8pm. Love, Patrick." She thought to herself how cute and sweet this was. Unpacking her things and gathering what she needed for her morning classes, she took the heart and shut the locker going to Patrick's. She walked down the hall, spotting him leaning against the blue colored locker, hair wet, long grey shirt with black jeans, grinning wide at her.
They embraced each other into a hug. "Morning, See you got the card, so what do you say?" He spoke cheerfully. "Yes, I'll be your valentine and very crafty card, can’t believe you even used crayons." She laughed in a mocking tone. “Well, I did and knew no one could compete with that.” They both roared with laughter and with that they went to class holding hands.
