i’ve only just found out that simon wrote hold back the rain about john because he was worried about him :(
if you didn’t know, simon didn’t know how to speak his worries to john so he wrote a song about him because he was staying up really late, doing all sorts of drugs and going home with the wrong type of people. i saw a video of them talking about it and it’s adorable seeing how much simon really loves john and how he isn’t afraid to show his affection <3
