i’ve  walked  off  worse,  *  he  mutters,  more  to  himself  than  anything,  but  there’s  no  real  bite  behind  it.  when  she  returns,  first  aid  kit  in  hand,  he  shifts,  just  barely,  like  he’s  considering  protesting  again,  but  doesn’t.  instead,  his  voice  softens,  quiet,  almost  sheepish.  *  you  really  don’t  have  to  fuss  over  me.
