I see that even though I went and started to pursue academic battles over literary ones, you guys stuck around and practically blew up Vallen. Thank you all so much for the love and support!
Will I ever update the book again? Besties, I am going to be real with you, I have no clue what to do here. As I said, I left writing to become a student and subsequently, my bank account suffered (2x since I am now doing a master's degree). I published Vallen on Wattpad when I thought there was no way it would ever see the light of day otherwise, but in the summer vacation before I started my bachelor’s, I edited it all and put it on Kindle anyway. Vallen was always meant to become a series, and it is very normal to put the first book up on Amazon for a low price or even for free to entice readers to buy the second book. I believe this was my plan by also having it here on Wattpad, but here we are, 4 years after it was published on Kindle and the second book is maybe 30% done (blame my school for that ok, not me please).
I hate authors who leave on a cliffhanger and then tell you to go buy the book on Kindle. I never wanted to become that and that certainly wasn’t my evil master plan when I left Wattpad. At the same time, I am a good 25% done with my second degree in business and that is telling me that maybe giving away your work for free isn’t the best bet when you have less than 2 euros in your back account right now.
So, in short, I don’t know what to do. If you are reading this right after you finished the book and you must know how it ends, it is on Kindle for (I believe) $1, which I will spend on noodles. Spicy chicken flavour, in case you are wondering. If that $1 is too much, I totally get it because same, but maybe if you leave an amazingly clever comment on why I should update, I will read it and think “yeah that’s fair” and then update.
