the violence that this country was built upon is sickening. racism has not went away, it has just taken on a different form. watching videos of police brutality angers me, not only because of the excessive force but the fucking BYSTANDERS!!! i could not imagine myself just watching helplessly as a man has his life taken away from him while he is not resisting arrest. people will stand and watch their phone out, recording a video as somebody is suffering an uncalled for death. watching the video of george floyd has broke me down into tears, it has been shown countless times over the news. all it could’ve took was one person to push or tackle the police officer off of his neck, and he could’ve gotten a breath, his artery wouldn’t have been kneeled upon. you’re potentially risking your life, or you might get a charge, but i would take that risk for the greater good.

as a person of color, i fear for the lives of my siblings and my family members. if i ever seen my brother on the news as a victim of police brutality, merely because the color of his skin, it would kill me. this country is so fucked up and it was built upon violence, greed and racism. it does not shock me at all that it continues to reign freely in 2020. change needs to be made.
