━━ ✶that anti! main character stuff finally reached the pjo fandom. i love the seven don't get me wrong but it makes me laugh when they try and downplay percy by saying 'rick held these characters back to not overshadow percy' > i think it's more than clear who bringing the attention to the party ! i won't stand for the percy slander && no, none of the other demigods are seeing percy ! argue w/ rick !!

@strdst , that is fair!! i'm in the midst of writing MoA (like, post-topeka 32 percy/jason fight) for a fic so my headspace is in the very midst of HoO, if that makes sense? and honestly during MoA, i do think jason surpasses percy training-wise cause he has like 11/12(? over a decade) years at new rome, where if you total percy's chb summers, it adds up to a year or so (maybe two; i'd have to do the math)

the percy–jason debates are also so dependent on where they're fighting, you know? like, yeah, if they're next to the ocean, percy's probably gonna win; then again, if there's no ocean (body of water wtv), then jason's gonna be more likely to win

my genuinely unpopular opinion is that i do think jason grace (before his death) could beat percy, and i am undoubtely a percy jackson glazer LMAO i do think riordan would have probably been better of benching percy post-PJO, but he also would have gotten so much flak for that too :skull:

and i feel like the more he writes, with percy & co., the more he loses what pjo!percy and pjo!annabeth were. to be fair, i haven't read pjo 6 & 7 in full, but the snippets i have read ,,, they seem very different than how they were in the original 5 books - but in a bad way

like, it feels as if he's regressing as a writer

@melpomelody i think my main point is across every book he’s written he’s made a point to establish that Percy is the most powerful demigod in canon (which makes sense comparatively! ) && now there’s this large debate where they’re trying to diminish Percy’s feats because they’re ’tired of his fans’ which makes no sense to me ? like you can have your favorite character and still recognize that Percy is stronger than them ! the only kids who could likely be on par with him ARE the other forbidden kids & he was shown to at least be more powerful than thalia && then the graces are both fundamentally at a disadvantage > thalia will never grow past 15 so she literally cannot catch up to percy , Jason is gone && Nico and hazel are in my opinion 2&3 when it comes to the strongest in universe

@melpomelody i definitely have gripes w/ rick’s writing && he should have pocketed percy after his first series because with each book Rick becomes more and more out of touch
