Another beautifully written short story. I loved the deep symbolism in this book. It was hauntingly dark and yet magnetizing to read. “The Maggies” is definitely a book you should read if you haven’t already. I simply can’t get enough of it.

Happy New Year’s!

I think I’m falling back into my lovers to enemies era again, if anyone has any recommendations. It’s a very scarce theme, especially ace-friendly, but I’m going to keep looking.

I’m also on the hunt for antagonist/villain focused books.

Anyway, I’m going to be publishing short stories on Monday and stack up on contests, prepping for the ONC. Reading has really helped with all this inspiration, I just have to find a good balance.

-Love from me to you, always!

@stuck_in_the__clouds I'm thrilled you liked The Maggies!! It was turned into a mini graphic novel. I'm hoping to share the illustrations one day.
Aahhhh, I do a lot of misunderstood and broken characters. If you want to check out something else if mine here are some recommendations: Rosalind (and its sequel Bellua), Heaven, and My Dark Beloved.

@Nyhterides Good luck with the ONC! I’m anxious for the prompts to drop now. Anyway, your story, The Maggies, is such a beautifully, dark story with such poetic symbolism. It’s honestly what I’m desperate to read more of: misunderstood characters. If you have anymore or know of where I can find more like it, please do share! ❤️ I can’t wait to see what you cook up for the ONC. In the meantime, I’ll take a look at some of your other books.

@stuck_in_the__clouds Thanks for voting on The Maggies! I'm hoping to take part in the ONC again this year too...I think it'll be my 8th year, something like that! :D

I can’t leave this year without giving recognition to a wonderful author named Carol! This short story was the story I needed to find. It is beautiful and carries such meaningful storytelling. I had to read it again while sitting outside and I felt so grounded. It’s my go-to story now! I’m so glad I found it.

@stuck_in_the__clouds Hello stuck_in_the_clouds I woke up on this New Year's Day 2025 to read your heartfelt feedback on this story. I am really touched that you took the time to write and send me this message. It brought some tears to my eyes :) but in a good way. It means a lot to me, and I am very happy to hear that the story touched you at a time when you needed it. Love that it is a go to for you now. Happy New Year! (╯˘ -˘ )╯( ≖‿ ≖ )

So, my sister’s appointment today confirmed that she is pregnant with her rainbow baby, and then the nurse tells her there’s two heartbeats; they checked again and found a hider.

It’s been a deja vu moment because she has a little horizontal dent in her stomach and we also joked as kids that if she had twins one would live upstairs and the other would stay downstairs.

Every second I’m saying a prayer that things go well this time.

Right as I was about to go to sleep, I got a surge of writing inspiration—for the first time in a long time.
The mystery genre for my writing journal might be out this week.

          Two stories:
One woman desperate to have a family and
a mother whose life is turned upside down under mysterious circumstances.
