Hello, Bunnies!
It has been such a long time since I last got in touch with you and gave you an update about this book. And honestly, it feels surreal to finally be writing this message after all these years.
I started writing this story when I was in my first year of college, and I actually completed the first draft within that same year. But right after finishing it, I abandoned the book—and, in doing so, I left all of you hanging, wondering what would happen next in Jude and Sky's story.
I'm finally here to tell you that the story is not over.
Bunnies, we have been together for so many years, and this book holds an incredibly special place in my heart. Writing and revisiting it after all this time brought back so many emotions and memories that, at times, I found myself getting emotional.
I wrote this story during my first year of college, at a time when I was struggling with depression and going through some of the darkest moments of my life. Back then, your comments, messages, and support made me feel that I belonged somewhere. You may not have realized it, but your words helped me get through a difficult chapter of my life.
That is why leaving this story was never an easy decision.
I know it may have felt selfish of me to disappear and leave you wondering what would happen to Jude and Sky. I'm truly sorry for keeping you waiting for so long. But at that time, I had to step away from writing and focus on my academics. I had fallen so deeply in love with writing that I eventually lost sight of my priorities in school. Leaving writing behind was painful, but looking back now, I can say that the decision was worth it. I graduated from college with honors and was recognized as Cum Laude of my batch.
A week after graduation, I moved to another province to attend a review center for the Pharmacist Licensure Examination. I spent three months preparing for the exam, and a week after finishing my review, I finally took the licensure examination.

Then came the moment I had been waiting for.
A week after the examination, I received the news that I had passed the Pharmacist Licensure Examination. Two weeks later, I applied to one of the well-known pharmacy chains in the Philippines. Just one day after submitting my application, I was accepted. I spent the next one year and three months working as a community pharmacist, and along the way, I was given the opportunity to become an Assistant Branch Manager.
Life became incredibly busy.
Somewhere along the way, I lost touch with the writer in me. Then, in March 2026, my family decided to build our own pharmacy in our province. I eventually left my first job as a professional and chose to pursue our family business. For the first time in years, I had more control over my time. And with that newfound time, I finally returned to the thing I had abandoned years ago, Writing.
I revisited The Gangster Who Hates Me, the story I had written during my first year of college. After years of growing, changing, and looking at the story with a different perspective, I decided to give it a new identity. His Untoward Hate is Book One of The Hate Duology. The first book can be read as a standalone, but Book Two will continue the story and ultimately wrap up the entire journey of Sky and Jude. And so, The Gangster Who Hates Me became His Untoward Hate, Book One of The Hate Duology. I spent almost eight months editing, revising, formatting, and preparing the book for publication. And now, after all these years, it is finally here.
