          i’m Muslim myself, and that is not what the Quran says.
          yes, we are told to protect our beauty by covering our chest and hair, but wearing burqas is too far ESPECIALLY since they don’t have a choice
          
          Islam already has a bad look because of misinformation and propaganda, don’t make the religion look worse by justifying the evil things done by the Taliban
          
          some others ways you can help women in Afghanistan that don’t involve tiktok trends are:
          donating to underground schools, so girls can continue education past 6th grade and other charities
          contact local politicians
            idk about other countries, but if you’re in Australia you have the ability to send a letter to the current PM (Anthony Albanese) 
          i have done this before and got a response
          
          you can also volunteer your skills, by teaching girls and women how to write, read, speak English, digital literacy and other subjects (online)
          
          the way i worded my previous announcement was a bit terrible, but you can continue to spread awareness
          just make sure you’re not trying to gain clout or make a new trend

idk if it’s just me but i find the “change your pfp to blue so you can support afghani women” VERY annoying
          
          because first of all, teenagers turning their pfps blue will not change the government’s mind 
          like they won’t just go “oh look people changed their pictures to blue, we should stop oppressing women!”
          
          secondly, the raising awareness argument is ridiculous. what the Taliban has been doing to these poor women is public knowledge and has been for quite some time. why is it only becoming a “trend” now??
          
          saying that the purple pfps from a few months back helped the violence against women in Africa is discrediting the organisation that actually helped.
          it was Women for Change who got the situation declared a natural disaster, not some purple pixels
          
          all i’ve been seeing for the past week or so is videos of people saying “turn your pfps blue!” or “f4f if your pfp is blue to support women!”
          
          why the hell are you using a REAL situation that is harming REAL people to gain clout??
          
          the sad truth is that the Taliban isn’t going to change anything because of a protest online
          and these women shouldn’t be reduced to a tiktok trend

the fremantle train is the weirdest thing i have ever been on, i encountered a guy in a maid costume, two women in prison uniforms, a bunch of cowboys and men in suits

1. I skipped school on tue and wed
          2. My friends are pissed at me for it + one won’t tell me something that happened yesterday
          
          I’ve been sick since Friday. And my immune system is horrible, that is a fact everyone knows. I don’t have chronic conditions that affect my immune system, other than maybe asthma? Idk really, that and eczema are my only chronic stuff that I know off
          
          BACK TO THE POINT. I skip a lot of school, either because im sick or because I mentally cannot handle being at school. But to my friends, it’s because im lazy or faking it
          I missed like 50 days last year, and this year my attendance is at 83 (its been a term and nearly 4 weeks so) so I get why they think im faking it, but im genuinely sick
          
          So my best friend isnt telling me some drama or wtv that happened yesterday, between her and three boys (two of which are incredibly annoying, and two in our class) purely because I wasn’t there??
          She was also sick on Sunday, and when we were talking over call she said she “wasn’t going to skip because she values her education”
          (This doesn’t sound humble forgive me) im naturally smart, I get high grades without studying. If I miss two days in a row, it isn’t a problem because I catch up instantly. Hell, before I skip I check my timetable + lesson plans to see if there’s anything crucial I can’t miss, then I go to school late/leave early
          
          If I went to school sick then k wouldn’t be learning anything, and would it not be better if I stayed home and rested without getting anyone else sick???
          
          The entire day, my bsf barely spoke to me and now it’s just pissing me off. Because no im not going to apologise for caring about my health more than staying in school for 6 hours with yelling teenagers
          I am very curious about what happened yesterday, and I can’t really ask anyone else about it because im guessing this thing has nothing to with them (judging by the people involved)
