Hello lovers <3 Long time no talk! Much of my very small following on this app was either gained from LOTF or from other theatre kids like myself! I thought I'd hop on here to say that I saw Wicked last week, and I did in fact spend 40 dollars for the cool bucket and cup. I've seen it twice now, but I would do anything to see it for the first time again. I think all theatre kids remember their "gateway musical" that got them into theatre and drama. For me it was Wicked! My mom loved Wizard of Oz when she was a child, so when she had me I was a huge Wizard of Oz fan, courtesy of her. My mom also loves Wicked. It came out a year before I was born and it was always a show she wanted to go see. We would blast the Wicked soundtrack in the car on the way to school when I was in like- fourth grade, maybe younger. I would always watch the illegal bootleg recordings of it on YouTube. It wasn't until last year that her and I finally got to see the show live! It was an incredible experience and definitely the best live musical I have seen. I just adore Wicked, and I cried so much during the movie, practically through the whole thing. (Spoilers ahead) Even when we saw the quick glimpse of Dorothy and the gang at the start, there were immediate tears. And the Idina and Kristen cameo?? I jumped out of my seat, never gasping harder. I know I am an over-emotional girly, but Wicked is also just an incredibly sentimental and nostalgic show for me as it got me through so many hard times, and due to the fact that it also was the birth of my passion for theatre.
Anyway, how are you, my loves?? I am not really active on here anymore, but I really wanted to pop on and give my thoughts about the movie since most of my old friends on this app know me as being a theatre kid. I hope you are all doing well!
