I live in France where I spend my time between Paris and the Basque Country, or further afield in search of new ideas for stories. I have written thirteen novels and translated two into French. In addition I have translated seven other books on archaeology, architecture, biographies and religion from French or Spanish into English. In a more exotic vein I have written an introduction to early twentieth century Chinese literature with texts in simplified and traditional characters and pinyin with English translations.
