@blairmanroe When I first began writing this my initial intention was for their dynamic to be romance-free because I was a pretentious kid trying to critique fanfiction and shipping culture in what I felt needed to be a solely scary story. This more-so changed as I began the early storyboarding process rather than during the actual writing process because I really wanted to honor the early-day fanfare surrounding them a ship. The whole piece is a love letter to early internet horror nostalgia and excluding ships would be disingenuous, although I think I found a balance of adding flavors of romance into their dynamic caters to that niche of the fanbase while also staying true to the efforts at maturity. I also think this adds another layer of devastation when we finally see how their relationship ultimately resolves. Hope this answers your question!

Hey! Just finished reading your story and I had to say, your writing style is amazing! It really keeps you hooked from the start. Keep up the awesome work you’ve got serious talent! By the way, how do you usually come up with your story ideas?
@Miriam_999 thanks so much!! when i was in middle school my friends and i were OBSESSED with jtk. so i curated a playlist that would go with my idea of the perfect teen horror jeff movie and started writing this based on that soundtrack. i reread it lately and it was so nostalgic i had to publish it :D
