[ the dress she wore wasn’t the nicest but it was the best she could find so last minute. her focus was on her reflection in the mirror, back to eren, sighing softly. ]     i need to look a lot better than fine for a dinner with the queen.   [ she wasn’t sure why she was a bit disappointed with his answer, maybe expecting just a slightly different reaction ]

[ she repeats with a nod of her head, also taking the stance and preparing herself to get knocked on her ass again. and as expected, a handful of minutes later she was lying on the ground, panting and wiping sweat from her forehead ]     alright,  yeah,  the dining hall sounds good. 

@surveyes,               right.      [    she didn’t seem particularly interested in being the best of their class,   all of which consumed her was if whether or not her friends were safe right now.    ]      rest might be better.      [    mikasa’s eyes flutter close,   a sigh escaping before finally fixing her stance again.    ]      one session,   and then we go to the dining hall.

@ghastlies !            its okay,  you weren’t at the top of our class for nothing.      [ her hands moved to tie her short copper hair into a ponytail, brushing stubborn strands away from her face ]      nah,  it’ll be fine!  i could use the extra bit of training before the mission next week. 

@paradisghst !        yeah but..     [ a sigh is all she manages for a few seconds. the attempt to reclaim wall maria was far greater than anything they’d attempted as of yet. a loss could be catastrophic ]      there’s as much to lose as there is to gain.  and honestly?  it kinda scares the shit out of me cause most of us probably  aren’t coming back. 

(      a nod in agreement;     though he’s well experienced in encounters with titans and even off-putting humans with malicious intent,     elric was still human.    he was still nervous.    nevertheless he dismisses the doubt that lingers.      )       isn’t that something we always have to worry about?   all that matters is,     if shit ever spirals out of control,      that our deaths weren’t in vain.

@paradisghst !         it’s not that.    [ leaning against the wall, her eyes land on the blades of the gear before they go back to the captain ]     i just think there’s too much that can go wrong.  and we barely even know what our enemy is capable of. 

@surveyes,              not like anyone else has anything interesting to say.   i think what you have to say is a hell of a lot more better than listening to hange go on about her discoveries.      [    they reply,   head cocking towards the side as a hum slips past their lips.    ]      who knows?   maybe if i even manage to get myself out of this mess.   though it’s kind of hard,   feel like i’m in way too deep to get out of this hell hole by now.      [    a laugh escapes,   agreeing with the other as they could imagine ymir fighting the urge to practically rip off someone’s head if they got near to historia like that.   though they wince,   snapping out of their thoughts with a hand lightly placed over their ear.    ]       what was that for?!   i’m being serious,   you know. 

@titanshft !             i’d probably have to force armin or mikasa.  the fact that you sit here willingly is much appreciated.     [ once they began to (vaguely) explain of their history with this mysterious person, she focused entirely on what they said. a hum leaves her as she contemples this new information ]     damn.  and there’s no hope of rekindling things with the prospect of our little world becoming a better place?      [ it would take a lot for such a thing but the idea of it was nice to her ]     and risked the wrath of ymir?  no thanks.  besides,  i got over it quick and now the queen is one of my closest friends.    [ her eyes narrow at them, reaching over to flick their ear ]     you’re going batshit crazy.  

@surveyes,                         you’re right.   who else would sit and listen to you endless rants?      [    rowan teases,   lightly contemplating on their options on what to share and what not to share to alex,   but this senseless gossip really had nothing detrimental that could be done.   so why not entertain it?    ]      sometime around there,   it was more so that i wasn’t fit for someone like them.      [    lightly clicking their tongue,   eyes narrowing for a moment.    ]      being apart of the scouts you know,   it’s better to go with no strings attached.   it was to save them from the thought of me dying,   and me the thought of what would happen if i did.      [    the shifter than offers a nonchalant shrug,   seemingly unaffected.    ]      historia?   seems like a lot of people are giving her goo-goo eyes all the time.   you should’ve tried to shoot your shot.      [    they nudge her,    ]      i dunno,   looks like there could be someone else now but what do i know? 

@massrequiem !        [ she too looked over at the man, clear distaste on her expression before turning back to saylor ]     definitely not as bad as some of the things he’s said.     [ a shudder ]      god i hate weirdos like that. 

alright,  but you just say the word and i’ll do it.  [saylor tells alexia as their eyes glance over to the man in question,  their nose scrunches in distaste.]  is it evil if i say i’d feet him to the titans?

@massrequiem !           [ she can’t help but snort softly as she turns to look at the blonde, shrugging lightly ]     he’s always bothering me.  and as much i would love to see you making him cry..  it’s not worth either of our energy.  but thanks,  i appreciate the offer.

[ it was only when he took her hand again that she realized it was trembling a bit. carefully she searched his eyes for any signs of dishonesty, finally releasing a breath when she was sure there was none. fear weighing down on her, she leans forward and rests her forehead on his shoulder ]     i’ll kill you if you do.    [ but the threat was just a murmur, her trust already given to him ]     part of me hoped i’d never see him again.  that piece of shit. 

alexia.  of course i’m not gonna tell anybody.   [meeting eye contact with her,  he’s honest in his words with a serious expression to match.  if there’s anything eren didn’t play around with,  it was matters like these.]   i promise you.  [taking her hand in his again for good measure,  he’s adamant in making sure she knows that he’s there for her.]

[ if eren hadn’t been there, she might’ve made the most rash decision in her life. even if she was outnumbered and would be taken out immediately. no, the time would come when she could properly avenge her father. so she let herself get dragged away, unconsciously holding eren’s hand as tight as possible. once far away enough and the clarity returning to her mind, she pulled her hand from his ]     eren,  stop.  you can’t tell anyone,  i swear to fucking god. 

yeah,  we lost a lot of people.  armin’s grandpa took care of us for a while and then…  he was sent out there.   [he had always been good to them even when eren made it difficult,  he wished he could thank him for it.]   i don’t know how i could’ve made it without them though.

@cagedliberty !           [ she wasn’t expecting his pity. in fact, his reaction was exactly what she had needed. turning her head to look at him, she only grins a little ]      i’m glad you guys had each other.  i can’t imagine how it must’ve been with wall maria fell..     [ one thing she was grateful for was that she wasn’t there when all of that went down ] 

ah.  [is all he can utter in that moment and he internally curses himself for only being able to say something so inconsequential.  but still, he has a newfound respect for her.]   that’s how it was for me, mikasa, and armin for a while after the fall.  [while he’s never been good at comforting others,  he’s trying his very best]   

i doubt you’re gonna find anything interesting in there.  i respect the hell out of commander erwin,  but he’s the living embodiment of the word “bland.”  [but that was besides the point,  snooping through his things seemed like an awful idea.  knowing commander erwin,  he would just know that it was them two.]   we really shouldn’t do this.

@cagedliberty !             the commander’s office.       [ said casually, as though snooping in the office of the highest ranking official of the scouts were no big deal. approaching the designated building, she heads for the main entrance ]    i wanna see what he keeps hidden in there.

[    armin trails off,    ]      listen,   i’m not here to lecture you,   i just need you to remember that a lot of people here care.   and a lot of people can also get hurt from your choices.   it’s up to you on what’s more important,   and what you’re willing to sacrifice..   or who.
