TSUNAMI WARNING UP!
          
          The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) issued Saturday night, December 2, 2023, a tsunami warning for people in the coastal areas SURIGAO DEL SUR and DAVAO ORIENTAL.
          
          It said residents in coastal areas should IMMEDIATELY EVACUATE to higher grounds or move farther inland, as based on the local tsunami scenario database, wave heights of more than one meter above the normal tides and may be higher on enclosed bays and straits are expected.
          
          "Destructive tsunami is expected with life threatening wave heights," it said.
          
          It was forecast that the first tsunami waves will arrive between 10:37 p.m. and 11:59 p.m., December 2, 2023. "These waves may continue for hours," said Phivolcs.
          
          "Owners of boats in harbors, estuaries or shallow coastal water of the above-mentioned provinces should secure their boats and move away from the waterfront. Boats already at sea during this period should stay offshore in deep waters until further advised," added Phivolcs.

I hope every people here in Mindanao is okay, rest in peace to the that students died, I also heard that in some places had a flood due to the earthquake, I pray for everyone that is in Mindanao is safe and be ready for aftershocks.

          PHIVOLCS Regional Director said in an interview over a local radio station that it is possible for CDO or Tagoloan to be the epicenter of a high-magnitude quake because of the active fault line in CDO and Tagoloan river. A 7.2 magnitude quake could trigger a tsunami that could reach a 15-storey building. He advised to study our surroundings for a possible evacuation route.
