Dude, writing in first POV is such a pain in the ass, when all you've been doing until now, is write in third.
I've caught myself switching to third on several occasions and then I have to go back and rewrite the past few paragraphs. But I've found that once I exit the stance of an observer and start acting like my character it becomes easier.
Only issue with that is, I entered a full on mental breakdown over my appearance, as I was writing my character going through the same. I think, I now mildly understand what method actors go through and it's so disheartening, when you think about the lasting effects it had on their psyches.
On the bright side, much like the ligic of method actors, if my breakdown leads to something that makes readers realate, I think it was worth it.
