Does anyone have advice for what to say to my mom? She is of the opinion that there are so many people coming out as lgbtq+ because it's 'fashionable'. I've tried arguing that more people are coming out because we live in a society where the public is more accepting (at least where I live) but she just refutes it and says that 'it's a privilege' and that 'she will smile and shake her head'. We just had an argument about it, she refuses to change her mind, and of all the times to state her out-dated opinion, she chose fucking Pride month!!!

She says she's accepting, and I suppose she supports the lgbtq+ community, but also not really because she won't validate who people are coming out to be. And yes I agree screw her.
