ATTENTION EVERYONE IMPACTED BY THE FIRES IN AND AROUND LOS ANGELES COUNTY
please be safe guys!! if you can:
Stay off the roads. People need to evacuate, and traffic jams are dangerous!! If we block the roads, we block people from getting to safety.
Wear a mask, use air purifiers, and keep those who have respiratory issues indoors! Air quality is sucky right now, so be careful.
IF YOU ARE IN AN EVACUATION WARNING ZONE, PREPARE TO EVACUATE. Pack a go bag, run through an emergency plan with your family and friends, and make plans in case you have to get out quickly.
Stay calm, and if you are able bodied in an evacuation zone, try to help neighbors and friends escape. Either leave your keys in your car or take it with you - cars blocking roads cause problems for evacuees and firefighters.
Offer support to those who need it. If you have any friends or family in evacuation zones or warning areas, contact them and ensure they’re safe. Take in families or extend help if they need it.
I’m not sure if anyone can just walk up and volunteer at evacuation centers, but if you can, try and make it easier on those whose lives have just been completely uprooted.
Try and conserve water! Firefighters are running out of water to fight the fires…their resources are already strained, so anything we can do to help is great.
Respect those on the front lines! They’re doing so much to keep us safe and lots of people owe their lives to them.
As of now, 12:28 01/08/25, the palisades fire has burned over 1,100 acres; the eaton fire is over 2,000; the hurst fire is over 500 acres; and there are two others at around 30 and 11 acres
there are 6 school closures in the evacuation zones, plus a few more public school and several private school closures. other schools (including mine) have minimum days today. please be safe if you’re in school or work today!

@WeirdAs__BiTrash glad you guys are safe!! I’m very lucky that i live in an area that has not been affected much but there is a lot of smoke and ash and definitely very hazy in the distance. Winds have died down for us but new fires just keep popping up T-T
School cancelled today and tomorrow though for LAUSD so that’s good (i go to Venice, which is only a couple miles south of the palisades fire evac zone)

@swim_read_repeat very thankful I’m not very close, no smoke where I am as of now, but we’ve had all the insane winds that made the fire so much worse so trees are down everywhere and there’s been power outages. These winds almost always happen at LEAST once a year but these ones are bad. Stay safe <3

Hi all, not trying to get super political but since the election is coming up real soon and I’m not eligible to vote, please please please vote blue!! I get that Kamala isn’t the perfect candidate: NO ONE is going to be a perfect candidate. But please do some research on Trump. No matter how bad you think Kamala is going to be for our country, TRUMP IS WORSE.
I am saying this as the daughter and granddaughter of immigrants, who gave up their lives to come here for a better life.
I am saying this as an asexual and possibly aroace person.
I am saying this as a girl who wants the rights to decide what I can and can’t do with my body.
I am saying this as an Asian-American who is proud of her cultures.

I am saying this as a minor who cannot vote.

          Please vote. Your voice counts.

          Every
          Vote
          Counts

          Please vote blue

Cyansong

Thank you! Just look at project 2025. Trump says he’s not part of it, but a lot of people close to him are. People that were in his cabinet in 2016 hate him and are urging people not to vote for him.

@swim_read_repeat thankfully we like just got out of our heatwave, it’s still mid- high 80s but it’s gonna be mid- high 70s next week, and not as bad as the 90s it’s been

My area just got out of a heatwave. It was over a hundred a few days ago, now it’s near 70s
