I was born a true Geordie on the north banks of the river Tyne, but have lived in Norfolk most of my adult life. I am fascinated by imagination, travel, history, memoir and memories, my own and genetic. I have brought these elements together in my first book "In Search of a Northern Soul", in which I have gone back to the north east to see if my northern blood sings to me, and whether my ancestors who lived and worked there many years ago in the coalfields and shipyards can help me find an answer. My second book, "Brandy for the Parson" is a fictional tale of smugglers and coastguards in the mid 19th century, inspired by the stories I heard when researching "In Search of a Northern Soul".
