HIT ME HARD AND SOFT REVIEW

          album rating: 10/10

fav tracks: SKINNY, CHIHIRO, THE GREATEST, BLUE, BITTERSUITE

this album is a first 10/10 in ages. bc god, is this the finest shit i've heard in a long time. this album is experimental but also consistent. it's important to realise, though comparatively to billie's previous albums and discography, this album is consistent, it is not repetitive. the production is pure perfection.

this album has literally no skips. i do have my favourites, but no skips. i'm a big fan of beat drops, and smooth transitions which Billie easily achieved in the best way possible, for example: the end of SKINNY and start of LUNCH, or THE GREATEST, beat drop and volume change. even the vocals, from soft to sometimes, screams seemed to enhance the lyrics even more. this album was unpredictable — something that many artists, even some of my favourites, have failed to achieve. so this album, along with Frank Ocean's Blonde, easily becomes my favourites of all time.

this album is literally for the AOTY.

i hate the fact there are so many haters out there for TTPD, just bc of a few "controversial" lyrics. they don't even try to read the entire song lyrics and go back to assuming. they say the lyrics are "nonsensical" without hearing the album. it's like hearing a one-sided story.

and sure i'll agree TTPD is not a love at first sight album with the production, it needs time. it's like wine, it needs time to age and taste better. the more i hear it, the more it sounds better. these were the same opinions about folklore and evermore and later they became one of the best albums in her discography

ppl really need to learn to read before speaking bullshit

REVIEWING THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT

          rating : 8.6/10

          fav tracks:

          Down Bad
          But, Daddy I Love Him
          Florida!!!
          So Highschool
          Robin
          Manuscript

this album was a mix of everything. liks its so utterly complex i have to break this review down to parts lmaooo.

firstly, i don't think Fortnight should've been a leading track. just like eternal sunshine (yes, and?), it fel very misleading to how amazing the album was

the lyrics seems to PERFECT. the tortured poetry was TORTURING. i think it provided the deepness and wisdom that one beholds when they feel themselves break apart from someone they love from a long time. it completely fits the theme of how people that look healthy in your life, tend to be the biggest vampires.the best drops and changes were AMAZING. absolutely loved the screams like FLORIDA!!!

where did this album lose points?

          repetitiveness in the production.

i felt a deep similarity with midnights, it wasn't something out of the blue. the music tones seemed to have potential but somehow did not enhance the lyrics very much. i was expecting a shift from genre but it was very similar.

tbh, the chord progressions were also very predictable. that's where many albums were lacking like olivia's GUTS, Beyonce's Cowboy Carter, ariana's eternal sunshine and Lana Del Rey's Did you know there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd? this repetition is also present the the rap industry, such as Travis Scott's Utopia, many of Drake's album and even Kanye West's latest album Vultures. so overall, all artists are not being able to experiment.

but considering many artists are facing the problem of an inability to experiment, the shifts and turns in TTPD, complimented the album alot and that's why I feel it does better.

did i expect more? i wouldn't lie, but yes, but am i pleased? VERY PLEASED with this album.

that's why the overall, considering The Anthology as well, is amazing and good.

girlies... so i haven't heard the TTPD leaks, out of loyalty to Taylor but I'm hearing negative comments about it, like it's mainstream and i'm getting scared... like i want this album to be REALLY REALLY good. like i want it to be the real deal.

i hope all those leaks are AI tho.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!!

i'm working on an entirely taylor swift based fic (inspired by seven husbands of evelyn hugo). whether it will be haylor or not, i'm not sure yet. but there is minimal romance, more of a documentary.

please tell me of i should make the fic haylor or purely taylor swift based.
