Each flake twinkled under the limited light blooming from the moon. They’d all blend in with the snow at the end of their descend.
“They’re so pretty,” The young boy said. I watched as he stuck out his tongue in an attempt to catch some. Being oblivious to the few snowflakes that had landed in his mouth, he brushed the feeling off with a playful pout.
We finally arose to the top of the hill while he amused himself with the falling snow. Somehow, I didn’t even notice my wife at the entrance before I heard her melodic voice.
“William?” I recognized it instantly. Almost simultaneously, Mark and I both ran and gave her the tightest hug of history.
