And since I’ve been gone for an embarrassingly long time, here is my very late and extremely subjective ranking of Breach:
14. Intentions — A genuinely beautiful song, but unfortunately I cannot listen to it without spiraling into a full emotional collapse. So. That’s on me.
13. Drum Show — I know, I know, I’m going to get yelled at for this one. I think I just burnt myself out when it first dropped. Still love the jocals though.
12. Garbage — Solid! Safe! Reliable! Does exactly what it says on the tin.
11. Center Mass — Amazing lyrics, I just wish my brain clicked with it a little harder.
10. Robot Voices — So fun, so whimsical, makes my brain do a little happy jig.
9. RAWFEAR — Makes me dance every single time. Raw fear truly does move me.
8. City Walls — That instrumental is hypnotic. I ascend slightly whenever it comes on.
7. Days Lie Dormant — Listen, I know this one’s a contradiction because of how happy it sounds but the lyrics are so down.
6. Cottonwood — Don’t talk to me. I’m not okay. Next question.
5. Tally — The sheer aura of this song. Astronomical levels of presence.
4. One Way — I don’t understand why everyone ranks this so low. I’m lowkey obsessed and I stand by that.
3. Downstairs — A literal masterpiece. Instrumental? Insane. Lyrics? Gutting. Vocals? Perfect. No notes.
2. The Contract — Musically so much heavier than the rest of the album. I’ve listened to this at least once a day since it came out and I regret nothing.
1. Drag Path — Yes, I know it’s not officially on the album, but oh my god. I could yap about this song for hours. It’s gorgeous. It gives me actual goosebumps. Immediate favorite.
