Admin: Some headcanons on how the hell Diana has found herself in this situation.
As I've said before, Diana's relationship with her parents has not fared well as she gained more independence, however, her relationship with her father is the most damaged. She has a really hard time trusting men, expecting them to abandon her the same way her father seemed to abandon her.
She can no longer sleep comfortably near closets, convinced someone's hiding inside. The closet in the bedroom she currently sleeps in does not have doors for this exact reason.
She's had a series of failed romantic relationships, mostly with older men. She keeps trying to fix herself without professional help, mostly because she's so tired of having to constantly talk about what happened, being hounded by press at a young age despite her parents best efforts to protect her.
She's far more bitter and cynical, assuming the worst of everyone around her, giving her trust to the wrong people in a desperate attempt for comfort and acceptance only to have it turn against her and make her even more jaded than she already was.
Essentially, she is living proof the Kramer's games only fucked people up rather than truly help them.
