Writer, reader, teacher, rider of horses, lover of words and their power to change the world! I'm hoping watt pad can offer feedback to improve my writing for my intended audiences. In the process of publishing my first novel, I am more eager than ever to make my writing the best possible.
My genuine passion is to write stories that will grab young adult readers and adults alike. I've spent 26 years teaching, and the past 17 years with middle schoolers. My favorite authors include Laurie Halse Anderson, Rainbow Rowell, James Dashner, Lauren Oliver, Neal Shusterman, and Laurie Halse Anderson. Yes, I mentioned her twice. I want to be her when I grow up (we're the same age-ish). I want to draw readers in like she powerfully does in each of her novels. I strive to write at her level of amazingness!
Being married to a man who not only supports but pushes and encourages me to write and write and share and write has been a fabulous experience. Riding my horse over a thousand miles in 2013 gave me ample opportunities to think and gather materials for new writing. Spending time with my two sweet little donkeys brings me peace from trauma that could have devastated me to the point of giving up, and rejuvenated my love of words.
So, as I tell my students every day…Our words have power to change the world, so, WRITE ON!
