I've had some comments and feedback regarding Jade's chapter where she loses her virginity so I wanted to address these comments.
          First of all, please keep in mind that this is a romantic FICTION and not an actual account of someone's experiences. 
          Secondly, when I agreed to write this story I knew sex was going to have to be an issue that was raised. I know some of the readers are quite young and whilst I didn't want it to be too graphic I also didn't want to not include it, because sex forms a part of most adult relationships. I thought long and hard about how best to include it without it becoming seedy and too adult. I decided that the best way was to have the two girls both be Virgins and to  have different attitudes towards losing their virginity. For Jade to be ready and willing and for Lucy to be afraid and unsure. I wanted the story to show that it's ok to be either one of those girls and that there is no right or wrong. I also felt it was important to show that boys don't all want a girl who will drop her knickers too fast and that's why I made Brooklyn more reserved and had him trying to slow Jade down in her mad panic to have sex but eventually (as guys would) he caves to her and they do it. Then she struggles to handle the emotion of it afterward having rushed into it.
          I made Lucy reserved and Rye horny to show that whilst he'd quite happily have sex, he's also ok with waiting until his girlfriend is ready. Then you see Rye and Lucy's first time and how the situation that unfolds afterwards is different. Embarrassment, pain, bleeding.... but ultimately it actually brings them closer because they've waited and are in a place in their relationship where they can handle these things. Ultimately, I feel like I addressed these issues intelligently, sensibly and to the best of my ability whilst trying to appeal to an audience of both younger and older readers.
