I just learned what pro ship actually meant, it’s means prefixed shipping, not problematic shipping 
          
          And while I understand that a bunch of pro shippers use prefixed shipping to cope with trauma, please also consider the fact that not everyone is comfortable reading a fanfiction between an adult and a child, fictional or not, admit that it’s fucked up. 
          
          I also understand that prefixed shipping also isn’t just centered around pedophilia, it can just be a toxic relationship (while not ideal, it’s way better) or even just whatever, like a rare pair or something, and that’s fine. It’s the pedophilic aspect of pro shipping that I have a problem with. 
          
          I understand the “don’t like, don’t read” but people will slap that on literal pedophilia, and defend it because it’s ‘fiction’ and doesn’t ‘hurt real children’ (it very much does). I understand the ‘Its a coping mechanism’ but please… find a better and healthier way to cope, because this doesn’t help anyone else. 
          
          What really irks me is when someone will write pedophilia, defend it because it’s a ‘coping mechanism’ and then call you an ‘anti’ as if it’s a derogatory term. As if they’re shocked when someone is disgusted with what they’re writing, and doesn’t like it. 
          
          Prefixed shippers need to understand, writing that shit isn’t okay, fictional or not, and it hurts others, regardless if you went through the same shit or not. It doesn’t make it okay. Writing children being hurt makes you weird, and it’s not the ‘weird’ you should be proud of. It’s creepy, loser behavior.
