          Somebody to Love~

Carina never really cared for Christmas. Having grown up in the sanctum she never practised it either, she knew that is a time for people to give and receive gifts, to put decorations up and that it was a religious tradition but that was about it. She didn’t understand it much for she thought that when you ought to give a gift you shouldn’t expect anything back but once she moved to New York, Stephen thought her a bit more about it.

+ Now, despite still not fully understanding what is Christmas based on, she enjoys giving gifts to people she cares about, she enjoys going to stores and choosing things for each of them, taking her time to think what they would like, what they could need. Sometimes she goes overboard, five gifts per person sort of thing.

+However when she receives any gift, no matter how small, it could be a literal rock with a drawing of a heart on it Carina will get all embarrassed and bashful. She’s still a firm believer that when you gift something you should never expect anything back so when other people give her presents, she feels bashful yet terribly happy. Having someone she cared about the gift her something was the best kind of feeling, she felt so grateful for them, though, not exactly for the gifts, but for the people giving them to her. After being alone for so long, friendship is the best gift you can give her, she'll treasure it more than anything.

Late Christmas Headcanons

          Lovely love~

Love’s Christmas are loud, very loud and usually messy, granted, she had a relatively large family so it’s understandable.

+ Her mum has a soft spot in her heart for special events, like birthdays, Día de Los Muertos, and Halloween but especially Christmas and despite her being busy woman she always makes sure to make the holidays work-free. She comes to pick up Love from the station. She helps the staff decorate everything and does her best to do so. If she sees something she like on a store she’ll buy it for the house. She makes a point on the holidays for the family to make their decorations, like stockings and to decorate the Christmas tree together as a family… Love always wondered why Christmas was so important to her, she asked her mamá once and she told her that it was because her mum’s parents were never there with her for any special time, and now that she has a family of her own, she never wants to make the same mistakes as them and since her mamá told her that, Love always makes sure to tell her mum how much she appreciates her efforts and how much she loves her.

+ Love’s grandparents usually visit for Christmas, making her holiday a mix between Mexican and Brittany traditions. During the day, she and her family play in the snow, or go to Christmas markets, eat a mince pie, wait for the Queen’s speech etc… during the night, like Noche Buena, they have a main meal, her grandfather gets up at the crack of down to start cooking with the help of her mamá and sometimes Love herself, he cooked Tamales, romeritos, Pozole, Christmas baked pork loin, mashed potato’s, and buñuelos. After dinner, they opened their gifts at midnight and then they set fireworks off.
