One of our chickens was outside the chicken run when I arrived this morning.

It turns out they've taken to roosting in the trees, despite their wings having being clipped.

          	Eany

Eany Pancakes is a light ~ skinned, brown eyed boy with short, black hair he keeps in a ponytail who shows up wearing a black T shirt, red jacket, black pants which are a size too big for him, and black shoes. He is another perfectionist, like Mei, and can also be lazy, like Ryon, who he shares a house with, and, while not perfect, he was a very happy child and tends to build up strong relationships with others. He is a bisexual in terms of romantic orientation.

          	Peyton

Peyton is a member of Vitani's gang in Bridgeview, the district in which they live, and generally shows up wearing a sleeveless, turquoise top, black pants with stars down the side, and dark blue loofah shoes with white linings, and she has blonde hair she wears loose over her shoulders and brown eyes. She is another aspiring romantic, and is logical, like Julianne, but also has a mischievous streak and is very into video gaming. She is outgoing and known as a bookworm, but also has a dastardly streak and becomes angry when interacting with those who get their clicks out of being good. She is a bisexual but rarely talks about romance, prefering to discuss 'evil' plans instead.

          	Huzuni

Huzuni is the younger sister of Peyton and the youngest member of Vitani's gang. She is light skinned and brown eyed with short, black hair, and shows up wearing a white jumper under a light blue puffer coat with a gold zipper and a purple skirt with yellow boots on her feet. She is a tiny trouble maker who loves to cry and throw fits, as being noticed helps her overcome negative moodlets and feel happy, but she also responsible and has good manners, despite her lack of emotional control and empathy. She gets on best with Rani, Mei, and Peyton, who she follows everywhere.

          Ulises

Ulises Peterson is a light ~ skinned, blonde ~ haired, brown eyed boy who shows up wearing a navy blue jumper, dark, fashionably tight navy blue jeans and golden loafer shoes on his feet. He is a C grade student and a close acquaintance of Rani's after she starts Pridelands High. In terms of personality, he is both highly creative, but he also tends to be sad and shares melancholy thoughts with others. He aspires to find a romantic partner, and is a bisexual in terms of romantic orientation. He lives a few doors down from Vitani, Zuri and Tama with his Mother, Julianne.

          Julianne

Julianne Peterson is a light ~ skinned, blonde haired, brown eyed woman who keeps her long hair tied back in a ponytail, and shows up wearing a dark green hoodie and matching dark green pants over light green sneakers with white laces. She is a waterperson, delivering liquid nourishment to the world's biggest sports stars, and is charismatic and comedic, yet also logical and rational and has some skill in singing. She tends to be slobbish, gluttonous, and is a convert to veganism with a high metabolism rate. She dislikes fitness and video gaming, and loves the colour yellow, basics and polished fashion, and alternative music. She is a lesbian but open minded when it comes to heterosexual relationships.

          Ryon

Ryon Newell is an older brother for Mtoto and Haki, and is a light ~ skinned, brown ~ haired, brown eyed boy who shows up wearing a red T shirt, brown jacket, dark green pants, and light blue sneakers with green laces and purple linings. He is cheerful and has slightly childish tendencies, but he also can be lazy, preferring napping and watching TV to working, which may explain why he is unemployed while Mtoto and Haki are at High School. He doesn't usually talk about romance, but he is open minded about bisexual relationships.

Trying to drain a flooded stables in the pouring rain. Farm work's never what you think it's going to be.

Here are some more chapter ideas I've been contemplating for "Rival's Love:"

The Battle of The Fitting Room ~ Vitani treats the fitting room queue like a Military Checkpoint one Saturday afternoon, accidentally intimidating customers who just want to try on a sun dress. Madoa has to pull her aside and explain that "power" isn't about physical dominance in retail, it's about making a customer feel confident.

Codes And Shadows ~ The Store moves to a Digital Inventory System, where all labels must be read and logged via a tablet. Vitani starts memorising the colours and textures of the garments to fake her way through the logs to hide the fact she is struggling with literacy. When Madoa notices Vitani holding the tablet upside down but still getting the work done, she stays late to show Vitani a visual guide she has made and offers to help her study the store manual.

The Outland Aesthetic ~ A continuation from "The Project Collaboration Disaster," Vitani helps style a mannequin using the distressed, rugged textures she remembers from the Outlands, including heavy boots and asymmetrical wraps. When the look becomes a viral trend, it proves Vitani's past isn't something to hide, but a source of creative strength.

The Debt In The Ledger ~ A debt collector representing the "Old Guard" who Scar owed money to enters the store to harass Sarabi. Vitani recognises the threat and stands her ground, however, instead of resorting to her fists, she uses the company's legal policy ~ which, with Madoa's help, she has finally learned to read, to have him removed from the premises.

The University Application ~ The final day has come to pay the University entrance fee, and Vitani and Madoa are working a high ~ commission "Pop Up" event which Vitani needs to cover the final gap in her stolen University fund.

Do these sound interesting to you fellows?

Working on new draft chapters even as we speak, and work on the next chapter is progressing nicely.

Here are some more more chapter ideas I have been working on:

The Culture Shock Commute ~ Vitani arrives at the ultra modern School gates feeling like an intruder. A group of wealthier students mock her for the hand me down clothing she is wearing and her favourite black leather jacket, causing Vitani's temper to flare, but she has to bite her lip to avoid expulsion, which would ruin her chances of getting accepted at a University.

The Double Life Exhaustion ~ Vitani is finding her double life as a sales assistant and a student exhausting, spending most of her time in the School's open air learning squares or doing inventory maths instead of socialising. When Kion invites her to a Council bonfire, Vitani has to say no, frustrating her, because she has a closing shift at Mtaalamu Industries.

The Project Collaboration Disaster ~ Zuri and Vitani find themselves paired with a group of privileged students working on a project on "Fashion Marketing". They want to focus on luxury, high ~ priced items Vitani knows most can't afford, and when Vitani suggests a more practical, "street tough" line, they dismiss her as having no taste. Later that day, Tiba listens to her ideas.

The Parent ~ Teacher Tension: At a School event, Sarabi shows up to talk about her job as a Personal Secretary, causing Vitani to feel a mixture of fierce pride and regret that she has to work so hard because of the family's old debts. When Simba and Nala make the wealth gap feel like a canyon, Kion takes her to the School's greenhouse to decompress.

The Legacy Burden ~ Kion is expected to excel at everything from leadership to mathematics and he feels the eyes of Mufasa's statue in the Courtyard on him, feeling it symbolises a perfection he can't maintain. He's secretly fascinated by the "grey" areas of history, specifically the parts of Scar's life Simba won't discuss.

          These sound interesting?

@Alaskara17 Do you have any dialogue ideas or possible plot points you could share with me?

Here's some dialogue ideas I have been having. I'll start you off and you could fill in the blanks if you find the time to do so.

Miss Sains: Is there a problem, Vitani? An AI Tutor is available if the technical jargon is a little...dense.

Boy: *sniggers* Maybe she needs the version with the pictures. The Bridgeview Edition. Seriously, it's *states year*. If you're still using the Audio Assist to get through a basic Bio Tech prompt, maybe University isn't the vibe for you. You're basically an NPC in a high level server.

Zuri: *Without looking up from her tablet* And you're basically a glitch with no aura, *states name*. Maybe you should focus on your own 'Soil Composition' report, since your grades are currently looking more 'arid' than the desert we're supposed to be studying.

Miss Sains: Enough. Technology is a tool, not a trophy. However, that being said...

*She taps a command on her console and the 2D text on everyone's tablets vanishes, replaced by a massive, floor ~ to ~ ceiling 3D hologram of a termite mound in the middle of the room*

Miss Sains: If the text is too dense, let's look at the architecture of survival instead. Who can tell me why this structure stays at 86 degrees when the air outside is 120?

Boy: *confused* Er...the smart glass coating?

Vitani: It's not 'glass,' it's saliva, mud and instinct. And it doesn't need a digital prompt to work.

Miss Sains: *Intrigued, raising her eyebrow* Go on, Vitani, the floor is yours. No AI, no tablets, just the science.

*Vitani gets up and steps into the centre of the room*

Boy: Oh, here we go...is this the part where we get a lecture about how "hard" life was in the dirt? We're trying to pass a Bio ~ Tech exam, not join a survivalist cult.

Zuri: Oh, will you shut up, *states name*? You couldn't even keep a cactus alive in your climate controlled bedroom.

Vitani: I'm giving a warning, not a lecture.

          Some more chapter ideas:

Tactical Athletics ~ Zuri struggles with fitness standards, while Vitani completes an obstacle course so fast she triggers a "security anomaly" alert on Makuu's tablet.

Legacy History ~ Vitani has to sit through a digital presentation about her own family's "crimes" by an objective AI, heightening her feeling of disenfranchised grief.

Unnamed Chapter 1 ~ Vitani is having to use an unfamiliar Career Exploration Tool while Kion's profile is pre ~ filled with "National Leadership," Vitani's suggests "Security Detail," or "Tactical Operations," making her feel pigeonholed.

Artistic Resistance ~ Zuri and Vitani are paired for a project to design a mural for the School's "Smart Campus". Vitani wants to depict the raw, brutal reality of the Outlands while Zuri wants something more "instagrammable". They compromise, and create a mural that uses high ~ tech, light ~ reactive paint to show the "Golden" Pridelands by day and the "Hidden" Outlands struggles by night.

The Tactical Stylist ~ Zuri, recognising that Vitani's look is exactly the kind of "Breakaway Path Aesthetic" her followers online are craving, offers to help "curate" Vitani's look for her job in Tiba's store, not to make her look like a Royal, but just to sharpen her edges. Vitani, in exchange, uses her job access to give Zuri early access codes" to new drops, helping Zuri maintain her influencer status.

Unplugged Connection ~ Vitani, Fuli and Kion try to "unplug" from digital fatigue by teaching Kion how to "read" the physical landscape in the park, identifying which trees offer the best vantage points and cover.

Friction And Freedom ~ Vitani visits the local ice rink after School, where she meets Zuri, who is more focused on the "aesthetic" of her skating than on the sport itself. Meanwhile, Kasi struggles with the polite flow of the rink.

Can I just ask who is reading my other two books? I'm curious.

          Elsa

Elsa Pancakes is a dark brown skinned woman with black hair she keeps tied by a blue headband, brown eyes, and shows up in a long, orange dress with blue slippers with white linings on her feet. She is very mischievous, and is a skilled gardener, but is also logical and charismatic and has a humurous side to her. In terms of personality, she is very family orientated, a geeky student, and a foodie, and she loves keeping fit, preppy and boho fashion, and kids radio music but dislikes playing the violin, and the colour pink. She is openly and very proudly bisexual. She is also the sister of Bunga but I haven't decided if she is older or younger than him yet.

          Haley

Haley Pancakes is a light ~ skinned woman with long, black hair she keeps in a ponytail with brown eyes who shows up wearing a blue shirt and fashionably ripped black pants over green sneakers with yellow linings and a black and green checkered jumper she keeps tied round her waist. She is an aspiring painter and works as a book collator, and she is highly charismatic, comedic, a good cook, has some skill with her hands, as well as skill at video gaming and a knowledge of the supernatural. She is a convert to veganism, something of a slob, and clumsy, and fears being cheated on. She loves gardening, the colour blue, and pop music and she dislikes handiness, making drinks, the violin, and alternative music. She is a lesbian but open minded about heterosexual relationships and is the biological Mother of Bunga.

          Jamie

Jamie McGinnis is a light skinned, brown eyed man with short, black hair and a moustache who shows up wearing a yellow and white hoodie, black pants and cream lace up shoes. He is a very skilled drinks mixer, painter, violinist, and fisherman, and, in terms of personality, he is envious and a snob, but also highly creative and loves his family. He dislikes cooking and the colour orange and likes hipster fashion.

Some more chapter ideas for "Rival's Love":

The Trial Nights ~ Kion arrives for his first "monitored night" at Vitani, Zuri and Tama's home, and they discuss their shared future together while Zuri takes note of their matching pyjamas.

The Digital Sentry ~ Easton spends an afternoon in the Pridelands City Tech Lab. He causes an incident with a 3D printing project which is meant to benefit the district's infrastructure and has to manually reset the hardware.

The Social Butterfly Reset ~ Following her third day at Pridelands High, Easton notices that Vitani is experiencing a flashback to her life under Zira, her eyes glazing over and triggering her Photophobia. Easton takes her out for a snack, and his cheerful chatter helps Vitani move away from the memories.

Kion's Intake Mentor ~ Kion has moved in permanently to the Adaana household following the events of the "Weekend Emergency." Easton takes him on a tour of the house and teaches him the family's protocols. He doesn't treat Kion as special, but as a sibling.

The "Outsider" Among Elites ~ Vitani feels out of place attending a School designed for the "rich and elite" ~ Tiifu, Zuri and Kiara focus on trends while Vitani worries about simple survival. A snobbish classmate immediately taunts her as a "charity case" under the Adaanas' care. She silences the criticism in a self ~ defence Class when she impresses her peers with her fierce discipline, earning a begrudging respect from Coach Makuu.

The Stolen Fund Investigation ~ In the Library, Vitani attempts to trace her stolen College fund. Kion offers to help, and, because they are around the same age, she finds it easier to trust him. They discover the theft could be linked to the same debts Sarabi is secretly trying to pay off.

The Balancing Act ~ Vitani attends a "Exploring Identities and Futures" class before her shift at Tiba's store.

I'm hoping to publish the next chapter of "Safi's Legacy" on Thursday and I am making progress on the next chapter of "Rival's Love".

          Easton

Easton Adaana is the younger, biological brother of Zuri. He is a light ~ skinned kid with black, neatly combed hair, brown eyes, and shows up wearing a brown T shirt with a yellow lightbulb picture on it, brown shorts and light blue shoes with yellow linings. He is a fast mover, although not in the same wavelength as Fuli, highly sociable and creative, but he can be a kleptomaniac and occasionally "borrows" things without others' permission, but he is also very empathic. He and Zuri occasionally argue over his fashion sense, which Zuri looks on as "scruffy," and Zuri routinely checks that he is not forgetting his homework. He is a C grade student.

          Josie

Josie Adaana is the sister of Tama and Aunt of Easton and Zuri, but she still lives with her parents, unlike Tama or her brother, Malka. She is light ~ skinned with short, brown hair and brown eyes who routinely shows up wearing a purple T shirt, black shorts and black lace up sneakers. She is an aspiring chef, and is also very physically fit, and, in terms of personality, she is a music lover, and physically active, but can have a mean streak, and she is a fairly open bisexual but rarely talks about romance.

          Keiko

Keiko Kim Lewis is the servant of King Sahasi and Queen Ananda, and may or may not be the biological Mother of Baliyo. She is a light brown skinned woman with brown eyes and long, shoulder length hair which she dyes pink, who turns up wearing a long, brown dress with silver buttons in it and white boots. She is an aspiring computer genius, and has some skill at singing, and is also a dog lover, and a lover of the great outdoors, but can also be gloomy and melancholy. She is a bisexual like Josie, but almost never talks about romantic relationships. As I mentioned, she could be the Mother of Baliyo but I haven't decided yet.

@Garfieldlover22 Vitani is often the one who bails Easton out when he gets into trouble, and acts almost as a bodyguard to him and makes sure he doesn't get into trouble at the tech club he attends.

Easton is also the only person who can make Vitani really smile when she's having a bad day. He's literally the only person Vitani will let be 'silly' around her. That's how close they are.

I've just seen the rankings ~ "Rival's Love" is #1 in FulixAzaad and BungaxBinga, despite there being so far no chapters focused on those pairings, "Safi's Legacy" is #3 in Zazu and #5 in Priderock.

Here are some more possible chapter ideas I have been contemplating for "Rival's Love;"

The Midweek Mansion ~ Sarabi picks Vitani up for her midweek stay at Sarabi's Mansion. Sarabi takes Vitani out for a meal, and, later on, they are joined by Simba and Kion, allowing Vitani and Kion to discuss their approach to the Sugar Crystals project. Later, Sarabi explains the "Circle of Life" as a mandatory Logistical Framework which keeps the City's hydrology and safety operating, as well as her own struggles with Scar when he was in power.

The Archive of The Executioner ~ Vitani attends a Court hearing of a Guardianship Review of a new Ward, possibly Fuli or maybe Rani. Vitani experiences an anxiety spike when she recognises the Judge as the same Judge who had presided over Zira's trial immediately after the death of Kopa.

The Systematic Interruption ~ Simba pays an unannounced visit to the School to check on Vitani's progress and general welfare. Vitani's temper flares, annoyed at the interruption, thinking it suggests she is a "Managed Project" rather than a sovereign student. The teacher intervenes to prevent a heated argument between the two.

The Lesson In Leadership ~ Simba notices Vitani is having difficulty managing her new "Sales Assistant" team. He takes her aside and shares with her some stories about his failings as a 19 year old leader, bridging the gap between his past and her current struggles.

The Protection Clash ~ Simba notices Vitani walking home late at night through a "rough" part of the City and his overprotective nature kicks in. He starts to insist on personally picking her up each night, which Vitani, who takes pride in her toughness, views as him not trusting her.

Do these seem interesting to you fellows? I have been a little busy recently.

Some good news: I have completed the next chapter of "Safi's Legacy;" I am just checking for spelling mistakes before I publish.

More chapter ideas for "Rival's Love"

Tactical Retail ~ Fuli and Vitani navigate their first shift as sales assistants at the store Tiba Mtaalamu owns. A crisis occurs when a manager tries to "fix" Vitani's extra bangs of hair, nearly triggering Vitani's photophobia, and Fuli performs the first Perimetre Shield maneuver ~ positioning herself between Vitani and the manager.

The "Huwezi" Efficiency ~ Fuli realises she can use her speed to finish stockroom tasks in record time, but it creates friction with more experienced employees and Fuli "teleporting" around the Showroom to restock while Vitani uses her "fixed gaze" Protocol on suspicious shoppers.

The Secret Haven ~ One sunny January afternoon, Vitani's photophobia makes the store unbearable for her, and Fuli helps her retreat to the dim stockroom, bringing her cold compresses and blue light glasses. They share a hidden snack and begin studying for an upcoming exam in the dark during their break.

The "Basaltic" Arrival ~ Fuli arrives at the shared home as a resident for the first time and joins Vitani and Kion in the hub, where her tracksuit is replaced with a silk robe and she is dressed in an orthopedic brace for the first time due to a previously mentioned track injury.

The Fragrance Attack ~ The store Fuli and Vitani work at launches a new luxury perfume on New Year's Day. Fuli's sensitive nose treas the perfume department as a battlefield and she and Vitani have to navigate a VIP event while wearing makeshift gas masks, and one customer ~ Fuli's rival, Karen Kendall, complains that the staff look like they are "ready for a heist."

The Jumper Trap ~ Vitani has got her uniform jumper caught on a high security jewelry display, forcing her to stand perfectly still for 10 minutes as Fuli laughs at her from the register.

Do these sound potentially interesting situations to you?

textahoy

@Garfieldlover22 For comedy purposes, probably fast enough that the customers in the store start to think the building is haunted, which then starts to become an issue the staff have to sort out while Vitani just rolls her eyes at the whole thing.
