it can’t historically accurate bc no fanfiction is completely accurate, but i know my share of 1930/40s history, with a side bonus of historical fashion (i’ve recently stopped fixating on the 1780s and am now stuck on the 20s and 30s)

why did we hate rachel so much? she was a strong young woman with a good backstory and was a compelling character
          
          we hated her just because she was in the way of percabeth (which in my opinion is classic but overrated)
          
          percy had no obligation to be with annabeth. rachel would’ve made a fine match with him, just because annabeth has been there all along doesn’t mean he has to end up with her
          
          we villainized rachel for being a normal teen and getting a boyfriend, for being a constant in percy’s life. we hated her because she was new. we hated her for no good reason
          
          so yeah, i’m a perachel apologist

if rachel had come first, if she was a childhood friend, we would hate annabeth for stealing percy away
            
            why do we hate rachel iust because she showed interest in percy? she doesn’t depend on him, shes amazing on her own. why do we only hate her over a boy?
