Write as much as you can, while taking chances with writing communities. The two that really helped me when I first started as a writer are @Flexiblebookexchange and @TreasureCommunity . They really helped me hone my skills as a writer and editor. I even helped edit and give advice on The Treasure Community. Both heads of those communities are incredible people who genuinely want to help writers.
Edit. Edit. Edit. Did I say edit? Make sure to edit your work. Even if it's a poem, a small novel or a large essay. Use online editing tools or communities on here. It will really help you grow as a writer.
Finally, don't be afraid to be an original writer, don't be afraid to run with those original ideas. You will find readers that will love your writing. It can take some time, sometimes it's short for some writers, sometimes it takes a long time for writers to gain an audience. But that does not define where or not your are a good or bad author.
That's all the advice I have!
