I’ve defended the show’s writing and deviation from the books but what they’ve just turned Alicent into is indefensible. Bending over backwards for a woman who has NEVER seen her sacrifices (literally her life) who she believes ordered the death of her grandson (bc Larys never told that it was Daemon) who will kill all her sons when a son has been given and when Aegon never wanted to be king. Paralleled to the scene of Criston calling her his beacon as she condemns him to death because she gave up his position. I’m not a book purist but book Alicent’s tragedy is that she believed in her cause and fought with her children till the end, ultimately unable to stop the death of her line. Just so so upset they’ve turned her (and all other female characters) Rhaenyra’s cheerleader 

Just read something very interesting about Jaime cast in Rhaegar’s role of choosing between the warrior maiden and his family. Whew 

Tempted to write something where Robb is set against Ned and Jon (yes during WoFK) hmm but idk how well that would be received by ao3 readers
