I started writing Steel and Silk back in 2025 and somehow made it through 40+ chapters, over 240,000 words, and three entire seasons of The Rookie, which is honestly insane to me.
I also learned that Google Docs apparently does have limits because this story got so big that I had to create an entirely new document just to keep writing.
And before anyone panics, no I am not deleting or abandoning this book.
I’m doing something slightly worse.
I’m putting it on hiatus.
With college starting back up, I just don’t have the mental energy to balance school while figuring out where I want to take Rosy, Tim, and everyone else next. I’d rather take a break than force myself to write chapters I’m not happy with.
The story will stay up, and I absolutely plan on continuing it. Hopefully winter break, spring break, or whatever free time college decides to give me will bring back the obsession.
I also have other fanfics sitting in my Docs, including The Vampire Diaries, Marvel/Avengers with my Supergirl storyline, and Supernatural, so maybe I’ll finally have another epiphany and actually upload those too instead of letting them collect dust.
