Hello everyone!
          	I hope you are all doing okay. We have come here to say that the author once again apologizes to anyone she may have offended. The chapter that has caused such an uproar has been edited, and all of the material that has been seen as offensive to any community that the author herself is not a part of has been removed. If it was not clear already the author is a black Caribbean-American woman living in America (specifically the south, where the book is set). She wrote this when she was 13, and I know most of you are saying that that is no excuse, but you must understand that times were different. We would really appreciate it if the accusations of her being racist and also the death threats would stop because there is no reason for that, as she is not a "closeted racist." If you have any questions, please remain respectful and we will try to get to as many people as we can. Also, if anyone finds any other offensive content, in this book or any other, please do not hesitate to let us know. Thank you.

@olquiesha hi, I'm the creator. I apologize if it seemed like I don't care that this woman is being cyberbullied. I promise you, that's not the case. I don't encourage it. I wasn't the first creator to post about this, nor was I the only creator. By the time I posted my video, the part about the cotton had already passed 3k+ comments and there was around 15 other vids about it on my fyp. I genuinely believe that no one should be cyberbullied nor should they receive something as harsh as a death threat. Expressing concerns/disappointment or anger over a book is one thing but cyberbullying is completely next level and it's not something I stand for.

I watch her too but honestly stuff like this could always be handled better, the amount of times random tiktokers post a SPECIFIC screenshot of a story out of context, happens too much. Not defending what the author did, but the posting of "cringey wattpad" is literally just clickbait-y posts with very little context

@AMuthafuckinMonstah unfortunately the “cringey Wattpad” narrative was not pushed as much as the “racist author” narrative was. And the creator of the video does not seem to care that someone is literally being cyber bullied because of her.
