So, I decided to make a difficult but important decision for The Star Witch.
Don't get me wrong. I was REALLY looking forward to contributing to the Pride Awards, because I am a bisexual woman who had her fair share of struggles. Heck, sometimes I still question my sexuality on occasion, or wonder if I'll ever find the Andromeda to my Rose, or be the Andromeda to someone's Rose.
But unfortunately, right now I have to put Rose and Andromeda's story on a small hiatus. A few weeks ago, my maternal great-grandfather passed away, and after I had an emotional breakdown over a spilled cup of water of all things because of my cycle, I realize that, after venting to a very dear friend of mine, that I am still grieving and that I probably won't be able to complete TSW or contribute another entry in time with only three days left.
With a heavy heart, I am dropping out of the Pride Awards, but don't be sad. I am not giving up on The Star Witch. In fact, with no deadline to worry about, I think I can stretch TSW into a novella at the very least while working on my horror story, The Perfect Victim.
I hope you all understand. I'll try to get back on track after my cycle is done and I'll probably update The Perfect Victim next.
I wish my former fellow Pride Awards participants good luck with the contest. I enjoy every last one of your entries and I hope you'll enjoy the extension of Rose and Andi's story when I can get back to it.
Love,
Fiona.
