@BlakeMcFarland I am a TS Eliot guy. If you have not read The Wasteland I beg you to go read it. And read the best critical books on it that'll show you what how much effort goes in creating a GREAT piece of literature. That's why I request you to keep reading the masters...they teach you over time.

@the_dubliners His simplicity was far from a flaw. Anyone can make the simple complex but it takes an intelligent man to make the complex simple. He was astounding in some ways and lacking in others. I wish we could have seen a little more "word play" from him. Longfellow was a good read.
@BlakeMcFarland HUGELY disagree Blake. Reading the masters trains your poetic mind in strangely amazing ways! Trust me. ED and JFN are good people to learn from. What about Robert Frost? People often take his simplicity to be a flaw. What do you think?

@the_dubliners I believe reading other peoples work adamantly destroys the potential for authentic creativity. However, I like Emily Dickinson and John Forbes Nash, Jr wrote some interesting things.
@BlakeMcFarland WOW ! Poe is not at all a bad inspiration. Remember he mentored TS Eliot even though they were contemporary. What do you read normally? Apart from Poe. read The Wasteland?
I grew up in a small town called Suffolk in Virginia not to far from The College of William and Marry where Edgar Allen Poe had gone to school. His is my principle inspiration but I find his alliteration lacking and his personification too humorous. I Guess living miles apart from other kids made it impossible to play and I only had time to read and write.
