If someone recently (like in the last two or three days) wrote me a pm: I just wanted to let you know that I can't read it. Wattpad is telling me that I received something but for some reason, it won't show me any new messages. Perhaps it's just a bug?
the_dungeon_master
@huffleRoses Oh, I was never religious in the first place (if that's what you mean?) but I definetely agree that one shouldn't have to give up their religion entirely just because someone else of that religion has or had an... unique way of interpreting it. I really love the game too! You're writing "The Unfortunates", aren't you?

@the_dungeon_master The Satanic Panic was actually started by a televangelist a few decades ago, telling that rock and roll music, role playing games and other things were of Satanic origin. What people of that day (and others even now) don't seem to realize is that if you keep you mind focused on what is truly important, then God will bless you. His main concern is not weather or not you play dnd, but stay away of the things of Satan (which dnd is not). You do not have to put away your belief system, rather stay aware of traps. Also dnd is FANTASTIC! I've actually almost completed a story based off dnd!

I read your first two chapters. Very well written. I do think that talking about all the different kinds of dice their make up, the long tutorial about the D&D Beyond app though my boggle down the reader. I am assuming that this guide is for brand new beginners. D&D can have a very steep learning curve. The reader may be put off or overwhelmed by the information on all the kinds of dice. Maybe that can be an appendix or something. It just seems a lot thrown at the reader when they are trying to learn D&D. Where they can get the dice or what programs and sites to use. Great.

@Danor78 Thanks a lot for your feedback! I totally agree with you. Both chapters got longer than I expected and I'll shorten them very much before I continue with other chapters. It is supposed to be for brand new beginners indeed. The idea with the appendix is really good, actually! I think that's exactly what I am going to to!

Hey! I saw you added “A World Lost” to your reading list. I just added 4 more chapters. I hope you enjoy it and I would like any feed back you may have. Thank you again!
the_dungeon_master
@Danor78 I guess that makes a lot of sense! I'd surely overshare too if someone had lost their memory. I can definitely try and find grammar mistakes but English is only my second language so usually when sentences sound funny to me it's because of me and not the text. xD What helps me the most with finding grammar mistakes in my writings is putting them aside for at least a month or two. After that I usually forgot how I phrased things etc. so I'll read more carefully. You're welcome! Though I should be probably be thanking you for sharing your story! :)

I guess it was info dumping. I over share in real life to. So maybe it came from that too. But I wanted the reader to understand what is going on around the setting. Plus I kinda figured since Markus had no memory of who he is, where he came from. Much less where he is at. That George would just be informing him about the place around him. Plz read over the grammatical errors. I’ve read it over and over. Had my wife and son read it. And even had my app read it to me. I catch a lot more errors that way. So plz don’t judge it on that. I am really excited that you are reading and enjoying it. Trust me, I totally understand how real life gets in the way of pleasures and what not. I have a full time job and family. So I get it. When ever you do get to it is fine with me. Thank you so much again for reading!

@Danor78 I've started reading the first chapter and I really like the dnd-vibes (I mean, it's taking place in Wildemount so it's obviously dnd but I generally like reading about it :)). The only thing that confused me a little was George infodumping Markus about his village. That felt a bit unnatural. I think my favourite part was when Markus tried to feel his ears as if he was checking wether they were stillt there. It's just a small sententence but could picture it so well it made me laugh! I'll try and read more of it as soon as I can but I'm a little busy at the moment so it might take me a while. Keep it up! :)

What helped me was just having fun with my friends, and not following the rules to the letter.

What kind of information/tips would you put into a d&d "first aid" kit? (Or to rephrase the question: What helped you the most when you where new to dnd? Did your friends explain it to you or did you teach it yourself?) I want to publish a book for beginners on this account.

@glitchman211 xD That's promising! I'll give them a try then. Thank you very much! :)
