World Book Day feels different now...
It’s been more than 5 years, and I still catch myself going back, re-reading those stories, hoping for a new chapter that never comes. I still wonder where they are, how they are, and why they never came back!
Before COVID, Wattpad felt like a second home. It was alive... stories updated at midnight, comment sections filled with laughter, theories, inside jokes✨ and writers who felt more like friends than strangers behind a screen.
And then, slowly, quietly, they disappeared.
No goodbyes. No endings. Just unfinished chapters and stories that still linger in my mind after all these years.
I miss those writers. I miss those moments. I miss that version of Wattpad… and maybe a version of myself that existed there too.
If any of you are still out there, if by some miracle this reaches you—my old Wattpad friends… I hope you’re safe, I hope you’re happy. Just know you’re missed more than you could ever imagine. Your stories stayed, even if you couldn’t.
And on this World Book Day, I’m holding on to a quiet hope that maybe someday, somehow, those unfinished stories will find their endings… and maybe we’ll find each other again!
