@Lucky0E well speaking in tongues is mentioned in the Bible for self edification to uplift your spirit. The Holy Ghost is important for us. Jesus mentions it when he is speaking to Nicodemus on the roof top. It’s the evidence of speaking in tongues that lets you hear you have the Holy Ghost.
